Wookie from the Dark Side

Ok... I probably should have gotten on to her a bit, but I thought it would make a good video!

Brooke and Audrey Meet Santa

The last 3 or 4 pictures are my favorites. I think she knew that she wasn't good enough to make it on Santa's good list so she gave him hugs and kisses to butter him up!

Sunday's Sermon - The Christmas Dragon

Bro. Driggers is preaching this Sunday and his sermon has an odd title, "The Christmas Dragon." Here are the title screens I've been working on.

Our Little Ballerina

MawMaw bought Brooke and Catelynn some ballerina / princess stuff the other day. Needless to say, they think they're "all that."

Brooke Sings at Church

Oh, my! Where did our little angel get her personality? She loves a stage!
[not sure why, but this video isn't playing right for everyone... let me know if you have any ideas why]

Brooke Sings at Church

Brooke had her first opportunity to sing at church Sunday night. She has only been in the choir class for about 3 Sundays now so she didn't have much time to learn the songs. One thing is sure... she likes an audience!

Balloons, Barbeque, and the Zoo

These were taken at the Hot Springs Balloons and Barbecue thing at the airport this weekend. Brooke LOVED it! She kept cheering for the balloons and saying, "Yay! We did it!" Not sure what we did, but she was quite impressed.

We went with my parents and Catelynn to the Little Rock Zoo today. We had a great day! Brooke's attention span is a bit short, however. We'd look at an animal for about 10 seconds and she'd cry, "I want more animals!"

Milton - Hog Superfan

I decided to take some time last night fixing up a picture of a misguided friend of mine, Milton. The poor guy is an LSU fan. Yes, I know what you're thinking... "How could you be friends with such an evil person?" Well, even Jesus hung around with thieves, prostitutes, and tax collectors. We must always be looking out for witnessing opportunities. Maybe this picture will help him to see the potential he has in life. Maybe he can turn from the dark side. Maybe he will repent of his wicked ways.

Blow out the candles

Brooke was ready to blow out her candles!

Brooke with her Guitar

One of Brooke's favorite gifts was a pink guitar. I guess she knew what to do with it!

This is my second video to promote our building campaign at church.

Past, Present, Future

This is my first video to promote our building program at church. We don't play sound as we go through the morning announcements, but I made a version with sound anyways just for fun.

A Sad Day in Football

Flags all over Wisconsin are flying at half-staff today. It is a sad day indeed. Brett Favre is going to the Jets. An era has come to an end, a dynasty forever changed. Is the world coming to an end? I will forever be a Packer fan but I'm also forever a Brett Favre fan. Is there any true fan of football that doesn't like Brett? His love of the game and child-like enthusiasm has won over fans everywhere. Brett, you'll be missed in Green Bay and Packer fans will never forget all you did for the team and the game of football in general.

Pancakes of Doom

Brooke's appetite hasn't been too good with the Salmonella so I decided to get creative. How could she resist a smiley-face M&M Pancake!? Starting out, it was a little scary with all the bubbles but I figured it would look great once flipped and had a nice, golden brown color.

Wrong! Things would get even worse when I flipped it! You may not be able to tell from this picture, but the coloring from the M&Ms got smeared to the point that the red ones kinda looked like blood! By the look on her face, I think she was a bit mortified by the whole experience. It may have made matters worse when I gouged out Mr. M&M Pancake's eye with a fork to feed it to her. Oh well, I tried. We may be looking back years from now in our therapy sessions wondering why she has an intense fear of pancakes.

Update on Brooke

Brooke seems to be getting a little better. She has been eating and drinking enough to stay out of the hospital and the diarrhea seems to be slowing somewhat. Our parents have been very helpful by providing food and the occasional break.

We were also very fortunate that we had just begun potty training two days before all of this happened. Believe it or not, Brooke has been able to tell us beforehand a couple of times and we made it to the potty!!! Little things like that help tremendously when she has a sore behind.

Now, my biggest concern is Holly. She has had a low-grade fever and her stomach is a little uneasy. Oh no! The pharmacist told us that we could very easily contract Salmonella from Brooke. Please pray that Holly doesn't get it!!!

Pray for Brooke

Pleas pray for us! Brooke has been running a fever and she has had diarrhea since Wednesday. We just found out that she has Salmonella. As you can imagine, we are very worried.

So far, she is drinking fluids and eating. When the fever is down, she is in a great mood. We just want to be sure that it doesn't get worse. In 4 days she has had about 40 diarrhea diapers. Not a fun thing to hear about, but now you know how serious this is.

From what we've read on the internet, it can turn deadly if blood shows up in her stool. I think she'll be ok, but we are anxiously awaiting the doctor's opinion. So far, we have only heard from the nurse that she tested positive.

Your prayers are appreciated.

UPDATE: Nerves got the best of my so I called a friend, Dr. Eric Spann. He said based on what we've been through thus far and Brooke's health that we shouldn't have anything to worry about. His guess is that we're already past the worst part. The overprotective daddy feels better!

ABC's of our Trip

Today I made a video for Brooke. I put the pictures from our family trip to music using the Alphabet Song. She can already sing through her ABC's but I thought this would help with enunciation and letter recognition. I got a little desperate at times for pictures to go with letters so I had to get creative! Sorry for the scaled down quality. If only you could see it in its full high definition glory...

2008 Family Vacation

Whoa! What a great vacation! We visited with friends in Wynne, went to the zoo, Grant's Farm, and the botanical gardens in St. Louis, and had a blast at Silver Dollar City in Branson! Since there are so many pictures, I split them up into sections.

A day with the new swingset

We bought Brooke one of those nice wooden swing set / fort things. The nice people who wrote the directions warned me that it would take two people about 6 hours to put the set together. Liars!!! My brother, father-in-law, and I spent 13 hours putting that thing together before we ran out of sunlight! I have to admit, though, it was all worthwhile when Brooke started swinging and was cheering, "I happy! I happy!"

Trip to the Branson Worldview Weekend

We just got back from the 2008 Branson Worldview Weekend. Dad and I set up a booth and worked most of the time while the women shopped. We had a great time! As usual, I took a few pictures.

Two Easter Bunnies

As you might already know, Brooke is big on accessories (sunglasses, hats, etc). In this picture, she had just thrown on her bunny ears and yelled out, "Ta-da!"

Brooke Plays Basketball

Brooke got to play her first game of basketball recently when we had some nice weather. By the time we were done, my back was killing me! Amazing how things like that don't get old to her, but they sure do to the rest of us!
