Ok... we thought this was just an unusual little thing Brooke did last year and assumed it was a one-time deal. Apparently not! She likes to play with cherry tomatoes! No, she won't eat them; after all, it is a vegetable. But, she will carry one all over the house and pretend it is her friend. Last year, she would push it in a stroller, talk to it, and put it in her dollhouse. Just last week, she took her tomato with her at bath time, put shampoo on its "hair," and shoved it into her Little People pirate ship's cannon.
The following morning she took it with her in the van on the way to school. Along the way, she talked to it, sang songs to the tomato, and even took it with her into class! I'm not sure what happened with the tomato that morning, but I did receive a disturbing email from Holly in the afternoon. The poor tomato met an untimely death at lunchtime in the cafeteria when he was dropped on the floor and someone accidentally stepped on him.
That evening I asked her what happened to the tomato at school today. Her one-word reply was, "Squished!" I asked who squished the tomato. "Donna Lou" was her reply. Fortunately, she didn't seem to upset or angry about it!

Choices!!!
Holly has been working hard on teaching Brooke about making good choices. As you might expect, Brooke loves to test us to the very limits when it comes to making choices. Yesterday, she had been doing great all day and I guess it was building up a lot of frustration along the way!
She was about to get into trouble when Holly said, "Brooke, remember to make a good choice."
Brooke replied, "I don't WANT to make GOOD choices. I want to make a BAD choice!."
(CAPS added to show Brooke's emphasis on her words!)
Fortunately, she made a good choice anyways, but it appears that making good choices doesn't exactly come naturally!

Pink
When Brooke was out of school, she and I got to have a "daddy - daughter day." I thought I'd take some shots of her pink room to show everyone. We had a blast!

Interview with Brooke
For whatever reason, Brooke just couldn't sleep the other night. I took the opportunity to do a video interview with her. It's pretty long so I'm sure not everyone will want to watch all of it, but it is pretty cute!

Pinkabella Party
Brooke went to her first Pinkabella birthday party today. I'm afraid that we'll probably be having one too since she loved it so much!

She said WHAT?!?!
Holly and I took Brooke for a walk through the neighborhood the other day. She got pretty tired toward the end so I let her ride on my shoulders. She began to "fix" my hair as we walked up and down the neighborhood streets. Then, I heard her say "It looks gray! Daddy you're hair looks gray!" What?!?! I know I'm getting gray hairs, but are you serious??? If only she knew she was the source for all my gray hairs!!!

Brooke's prayer
Brooke just said her prayers before nap time.
"Thank you for MaMaw and PaPaw
God, thank you for MawMaw and PawPaw
and to go swimming in the pool.
God, thank you for Dr. Slay to look in my ears.
Amen"
Hahahaha! The funny part is that Dr. Slay had to look in her ears to give the "go ahead" that she could swim again. She is very thankful he said "yes!"
